After joining the bar in 1976, Wright first worked as the Maine Secretary of State’s personal lawyer where he prepared legislation and advised the State Department on issues involving election law, corporate law, motor vehicle law, records retention, and compliance with the newly enacted Administrative Procedures Act. He then was appointed Assistant Attorney General under three different Attorneys General, where he defended the State of Maine in both workers’ compensation and tort claims cases.

 

In April of 1981, Wright joined a midsized law firm in central Maine, where he immediately began defending asbestos cases, and heading the firm’s litigation department. Appointed lead national trial counsel for an oft-targeted asbestos defendant, Wright tried cases throughout the country, with the majority of activity being in Florida, West Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, New York, Maryland, as well as the New England states.

 

In 1992, Wright founded this firm, where he has continued to specialize in toxic tort and environmental litigation.
